Literature Text

A last attempt, she spun a tale to hold his mind in sway... before he cut the final cords, keeping his heart beating, connecting it to hers, keeping them in love...
With her every act of malevolence, each wrong look at him or another, each misplaced word, the cords were cut.....
And so he held the silver knife, wrought by his own hands, a symbol of his hate, his pain, his worried mind...... just above the final cord, as she told her tales, her sweet sweet lies...... his mind knew them for what they were, saw the deception before it even left her lips..... but his heart remembered what they once had, the love he felt for her lived within each beat..... and he could not bring himself to cut these final strands.....
A tear fell down his cheek.... and the knife, his hatred and rage.. demanded blood. he looked at his heart, as it beat pathetically for her.... and he began to carve......
Nothing felt better to him, in his final moments, than being truly heartless...... to finally be free of his pain..... his love of her.
From a darker me... I had many lessons to learn, and still.. But I am ever the wiser for my pain.
